Following the Floods of '08, the bonobo yard at Great Ape Trust was restored in September. The bonobos enjoy the opportunity to venture into the yard to play, explore, groom and search for food placed in the yard by caretakers.

Elikya and Maisha, bonobo brother and sister, arrived at Great Ape Trust of Iowa May 8, 2005 from the Language Research Center at Georgia State University and were greeted by Panbanisha, Nyota and Nathan.
